After several requests, I thought I would share with you the latest images from Fendi Casa for their 2017 collection as presented in Milan last April. As it is obvious, velvet is still the major element prevailing this years fashion whether in home collections or ready to wear.
With several shows per year, we can’t but be impressed with the amount of beautiful and luxurious designs brands such as Fendi Casa come up with. This past September Fendi Casa released some of their nicest pieces yet. As you will notice, velvet has been a trend all year in fashion and in furniture. Which is your favorite piece?
“Baker and I are an absolute perfect match. I could not dream of a better collaboration.” Jean- Louis Deniot
For the past 2 years, famous Parisian designer Jean-Louis Deniot has been working closely with Baker Furniture for a new collection inspired by 20th Century vintage furnishings.
“Sensual curves meet geometric symmetry. The changing light of day reflects multitudes of moods at play in sumptuous textures and tones. A neoclassical foundation underpins the improvisation of a mid-Century silhouette here, an Art Deco gilding there. Nods to primitivism punctuate the clean lines of a curated space. With all of this, Jean-Louis Deniot masters an amalgam of organic energy and a brainy precision to create something entirely 21st-Century.”
The beauty of the collection is that it is complete with elegant accessories, lighting, and tables not just furniture.
I was lucky enough last January to be present at the launch of the new Milling Road collection from Baker, designed by Kara Mann. Kara Mann is an interior designer based in New York & Chicago since 2005. A recognized stylemaker, Kara was called an “of-the-moment” designer by InStyle, and Vogue has appointed her a member of “The Vogue 100,” a group of influential decision makers and opinion leaders known for their distinctive taste in fashion and culture.
Mann’s work has appeared in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Traditional Home, and House Beautiful, among others. She has served on several esteemed design panels, including the Details magazine panel at La Cienega Design Quarter and the Interiors magazine West Week Panel, both in 2010. In spring of 2015, Mann collaborated with Gwyneth Paltrow on a Goop pop-up shop in Chicago that showed off her playful, relaxed, yet sophisticated sensibility.
Mann’s first collection for Milling Road updates traditional materials with details that add a sense of edginess while still reflecting luxury via clean lines and timeless designs. Her pieces are architectural, purposeful, quietly impactful and refined, and reflect her love of simplicity and dedication to fine craftsmanship.
One of the furniture brands I always look forward to checking out their new designs is non other than luxury brand Fendi Casa. This January they presented their latest collection for 2016 and it is all about their new favorite fabric, blue velvet, and beautiful gold and brass metals. Velvet is definitely one of the strongest finishes making a grand comeback recently. Almost all furniture brands were adopting this versatile yet tricky finish. Many attempts are being made to make it more practical, heavy duty, yet silky smooth.
At Maison & Objet last January, Fendi Casa, among other luxurious brands, presented their latest collection and finishes for 2015. During each fair they add a few new elements or elaborate on existing pieces that were released in the recent years. You will notice velvets, dark colors, and metallic finishes as the most prevalent trend this year. Fendi Casa captured it perfectly.
B&B Italia, one of the world’s most famous furniture brands, just announced it is releasing a ‘junior’ edition of its up series. the original lounge chair was designed back in 1969. This Christmas it will be displayed in a few of their select showrooms. If you have seen the original grand sized one, you would understand the significance of this new piece. It’s extremely comfortable, stylish, and acts as a statement piece to any interior.
Introducing the latest additions to Marcel Wanders’ luxurious ‘Jardind’Eden’ collection for Christofle. The new products include several exceptional pieces of Haute Orfèvrerie.
Among these are a dining chair and a clock with floral steel engravings, produced with the technical support of Luigi Barei. These products are gems of filigree extravagance, handcrafted know-how and endless beauty.
An expression of Marcel Wanders’ invigorating festivity, the bowl and tray centerpieces carry the collection’s signature pattern of interlaced leaves, curled lys flowers and decorative apples against a geometric grid reminiscent of the lush garden.
Jardin d’Eden is a whimsical, luxurious and sensual collection, whose stylistically distinctive pieces render the finest of what the worlds of design and silversmith’s craft has to offer.
