Valentino New Store Concept | Retail Design

We’ve all been loving Valentino’s Rockstud & Naked Rockstud collection as they have been on fashion enthusiasts everywhere. However, in terms of their shop designs, Velentino have been working lately on a new concept for the stores to portray intimacy yet a luxurious feel to the space. Their boutiques are usually divided into several rooms housing the different aspects of their collections. Their latest boutiques are in Milan, Sao Paulo, Paris and Beverly Hills. The concept developed by Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, in cooperation with world renowned architect David Chipperfield.

You would notice how Chipperfield used a wide variety of materials yet blended perfectly to realize the aim behind the concept. Grey Venetian terrazzo with Carrara marble chippings were used as a flooring finish in most of the areas and continued on the sides of entrances separating one space from the other. In other areas he used timber flooring, and a chessboard pattern in others. In addition to that there was wool and silk carpets. The dressing rooms had leather wall cladding. to add transparency & glossiness glass and mirrors were also used sparingly. In each of the boutiques, feature chandeliers accented certain areas. American walnut (my favorite wood) was used as well as timeless art deco furniture pieces. The above photos are from the Paris shop at Avenue Montaigne.
