Could this be the answer to the smoking ban in public recreational areas? Airdiem have come up with a solution for an argeeleh/narghile/shisha that uses actual minerals & food aromas to create vapor instead of actual smoke, mimicking the pleasurable effect smoking a narghile gives by using Armatherapy which is actually beneficial to the consumer. This is a much more expensive concept given the minerals and high end narghiles used, but do you think it could be a solution to luxury hotels & restaurants?

The sheesha world seems to be at rise more and more, just when we hear about new smoking bans we hear about new sheesha places popping up. To divert the very “public” aspect of the sheesha, many brands have been designing exclusive and high end designer ones such as Porsche Design (posted previously), Aridiem (earlier post as well), and now Étienne LeRoy.
From Étienne LeRoy :
The Swiss Made Étienne LeRoy sheeshas launched a few days ago are setting a new standard of quality and refinement in the art of sheesha smoking. Designed and manufactured by eukapis sàrl, a Lausanne based company, the Étienne LeRoy sheesha will be presented during the Big Boys Toys Show in Dubai in February 2012.
Swiss luxury goods are legendary. Not only have Swiss designers and artisans gained a well-deserved reputation for making the world’s most valued timepieces, they have excelled in other areas as well. Carrying on this ancient Swiss tradition, the Étienne LeRoy team have decided to ally the Eastern tradition and modern Swiss design to create the best sheesha ever made. They chose the highest quality materials and have worked with the most highly skilled artisans to achieve their goals.

If you are a shisha fan looking for a designer branded one, look no further. Porsche-Design has designed a luxury Shisha pipe (argeeleh) as part of their Porsche Design World Collection.
Porsche-Design have created a wide range of personal use items such as tea and soup sets, chopsticks, fashion wear , and the shisha pipe which is manufactured in Germany and made of modern materials such as stainless steel. It kind of reminded me of the one at Café Blanc.
“ The tube is made using TecFlex, which the brand also uses on the Porsche Design pen range.
The Shisha was launched at Porsche Design’s store within Harrods department store in Knightsbridge, London.”
Don’t get me wrong, I am totally against smoking in all forms. However, when you live in the Middle East you get used to the idea that many people plan their entire outing around the availability of the “Narghileh , Argeeleh, or hooka ”, if you boycott that, you might end up going out alone. Due to its “social aspect”, restaurants and cafes have been making it an integral part of their menus. Some even are dedicating a whole menu to its flavors. Since it has a very down to earth image, many have been working on altering its image by creating very stylish ones such as the Lebanese concept “Café Blanc”, I always thought they had the best looking narghile’s until I came across Airdiem at Maison et Objet last month.
In spite of all the non-smoking campaigns all over Europe, I was shocked with the number of smokers in France, and especially the large number of narghile users in the cafes on the Champs Elysee.
