Del Popolo Mobile Pizzeria

Such a lovely concept, nothing beats fresh pizza, and Del Popolo is a mobile pizzeria that brings fire wood pizza to you and I don’t mean in a “home delivery” way, this truck actually features a 5000 ld Stefano Ferrara wood burning oven (capable of producing 72 pizzas) in a modern glass enclosed exhibition kitchen.

Why is this concept special? Well the idea of combining portable pizza, an age old technique, and a funky design is really incredible.

Cotta Cafe Australia By MIM Design | Cafe Design

Cotta is a very trendy cafe in Melbourne, Australia designed by MIM Design making use of a number of lovely natural materials complementing each other in the best way possible. In this project the designers kept the overall image rustic yet with clean and sleek inserts of marble and a beautiful modern central chandelier. Materials used are warm and earthy with steel partitions and variations in seating arrangements, which was my favorite part of the setting.I loved the emphasis on the central axis of the cafe, it's what I would have done.

Mim Design worked on the entire concept including the venue name, graphics & branding, and interior design.

Ivanka Trump Apartment In Park Avenue | Celebrity Homes

Ivanka Trump commissioned Kelly Behun to design her penthouse on Park Avenue prior to her delivery. She wanted he penthouse to be a home for her lovely family. As a first step she chose the location close to her work and Central Park since she wanted to check on her child whenever she could get the chance. For her apartment she chose certain pieces from the clock options and worked around them, that’s the way she likes to work. Kelly Behun’s vast number of selections helped with her choices, according to the article prepared by Elle Decor. Celebrities Made Out Recycled Cassettes | Art

To be able to use such a simple material and make something so beautiful out of it is what we know as art.

In her series ‘Ghost in the Machine’,Princeton-based artist Erika Iris showcases a number of portraits of musicians made out of recycled cassette tape with original cassette. Also included are portraits made from old film and reels. She was inspired by philosopher Gilbert Ryle. She says she imagines”we are all, like cassettes, thoughts wrapped up in awkward packaging”.

“Most of my pieces become portraits of people associated with the item I’ve chosen. I don’t really add any paint or pigments… I usually just take things apart and re-arrange the pieces, cutting away portions when necessary. A lot of my art is made with cassette tapes and old film reels in a series I call “Ghost in the Machine.”

New Renderings For 1 World Trade Center | Architecture

Controversy has been surrounding the designs for the 1 World Trade Center. Over 20 changes have been applied to the initial drawings, however the main conflict was concerning the importance of having the pole (antenna) on top of the skyscraper. It has always been part of the towers' characteristics. Should that change now?

“The problem is that the council does not recognize antennae, flagpoles, signage or other superfluous structures as contributing to the height of the building. That is why the Willis Tower, 1,451 feet, ranks eighth tallest in the world, even though two broadcasting arrays bring its total height to 1,729 feet, the second tallest in the world behind the Burj Khalifa.”- The Observer

The International House In California | Residential Design

Designed by Laidlaw Schultz Architects, this architecture wonder is the result of the beautiful combination of concrete, wood, painted bricks, glass, and beautiful white striated marble. It is lovely how the exterior is reflected into the interior of the house. The same materials and colors used on the facade continue to the interior but with more emphasis on the warm finishes such as walnut wood, fire, and a large orange carpet.

On the exterior however, the emphasis is more on the glass, concrete, and the beautiful pool. This continuity in use of the materials is what gives this residence its balanced feel.

Lovely Geometric Illustrations For The Olympics 2012 | Art

For this year's London Olympics, Chris Tsevis, a Greece-based visual designer, created illustrations for three different sports as part of Yahoo's coverage of this great event. The sports covered in these images were for diving, gymnastics, and running.

Loved the vibrant colors and geometric interpretation of movement which is generally interpreted in more fluid forms. Lovely work!
