World renowned designer and a personal favorite, Marcel Wanders, and award-winning Los Angeles, Switzerland and Hong Kong-based tecARCHITECTURE collaborated on the Casa Son Vida luxury villa on the Island of Mallorca. Located approximately 15 minutes outside of Palma de Mallorca in an exclusive community called Son Vida. The 8,500 square foot luxury residence acts to redefine luxury architecture as it is typified by the traditional Mediterranean and Tuscan styles otherwise found on the island.
The structure is a bold, curvaceous shape that completely evades conventional definition of modern villas. The idea is that the two pieces co-exist as separate entities, meeting abruptly and then quite literally turning away from each other. Their interaction suggests a chance encounter and speaks to the deliberate and bold juxtaposition of the two elements.

Among the Seven Hotel’s variety of themed rooms in Paris, one in particular, stands out, the 007 suite.One of 28 themed rooms in the hotel, it features Bond inspired furniture and images, in addition to the decor, all of the 007 films can be watched on the screen in the suite.

Now synonymous with the Ferrari race track, there’s nothing quiet about Yas. This 6,000-acre island right off the coast of Abu Dhabi buzzes with a 143-berth marina and yacht club, a 3.4-mile Formula One racetrack, and now the new nine-story, nearly one-million-square-foot Yas Hotel, which opened in November, just in time for the first-annual Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. To keep pace with the island’s vibe, the hotel’s designers positioned its two buildings half on land, half on water, with the racetrack cutting through. A-Cero is an architecture studio that has become a reference for most architects and designers. Their modern use of proportions, volumes, and minimalistic aesthetics has given them this significance. The Vivienda 19, located near Madrid, is a clear indication of their contemporary style.

The LLove exhibition in Tokyo is a nice concept, where you can “check in” if you like what you see and feel like staying there. LLove consists of eight guest rooms, as well as a cafe and a shop, all completely refurbished by a selection of eight Dutch and Japanese designers, including Scholten & Baijings, Pieke Bergmans, Richard Hutten and Jo Nagasaka.

Gossip girl, a scandalous drama about Manhattan`s elite, is taking the world by storm. Not only for the drama itself but because of the fashion and design trends they are setting. With over 6,000,000 fans on facebook you can only imagine the impact they have. From one of Sex and the City’s set designers, Cristina Tonkin, you will find the set designs for Gossip girl. Every set created for the show manages to express the character`s complex personalities. An eclectic mix of classic and new help build the intricate stories.

The first Ladurée shop opened its door in 1862, which makes it the oldest and most legendary of Parisian patisseries. They are especially famous for their French macaroons, tiny meringue cakes with filling that literally melt in your mouth.This week Ladurée opened in Beirut, Lebanon, Beirutrestaurants.com provided exclusive photos on their site. The display looks charming , a typical attribute of their shops worldwide. The location of the patisserie embraces the overall image of Ladurée.
