Cheval Bar in Greece | Restaurant Design

cheval

Completed and open in 2014/2015, Cheval is a beautiful lounge/bar in Thessaloniki, Greece by Ark4lab. Such a beautiful and richly designed space. It consists of two floors. You will find the horse theme (meaning of the word Cheval) prevalent throughout the two floors. The images are on the wall and in the sculptures. The contrast between clean geometric shapes on the ceiling and rough finishes on the walls and floor give it that trendy vibe.

Souk, A Lebanese Food Market, in Greece | Restaurant Design

K-Studio designed a 24-hour Lebanese Food market called Souk located along the coastline in Athens, Greece.

Yatzer described the project:

A feast for both the plate and the palette, it has been inspired by the characteristic features of Beirut – a multi-faceted city of historical and contemporary culture, religion, architecture and design. Souk sweeps you off your feet and offers you an escape and an adventure that is a real feast for all the senses.

Fresh, warm, eclectic and very inviting, the atmosphere in Souk is certainly stimulating. This incredible new restaurant provides a relaxed, sociable and fun dining journey. Imagine wandering around enjoying the delicious scent of the food, perusing eclectic stalls set in structural concrete columns on an easy to navigate grid. Imagine stopping to watch talented chefs using fresh ingredients to prepare various Lebanese delights such as, 'Manaoushi', 'Saj' and‚ 'Taouk' right in front of you. Yes, it's a real place and the hardest part of going to Souk, is deciding which of the delicious dishes on offer to choose from. The food is complimented with extra delights which result from the magical design of this dining space. As you follow the mosaic pathway on a culinary and aesthetic adventure you know that you have found a unique environment in which to relax and feast.

Elektra Bakery in Greece | Interiors

I’m not sure if I actually love this bakery or giving into my Carb cravings! I actually think its both. The combination of wood and crisp clean Carrara  marble finish is just amazing. It opens the entire space yet allows the cozy feel of a bakery. Stylish Tom Dixon lights and the industrial Tolix chairs add a hip element to this 35 square meter space located on a very strategic corner in Edessa Greece.

Studioprototype worked on this pilot project for the bakery chain. The floor plan is  narrow and linear, the designers suggested having the long marble food counter as the focal point of the entire space.

A sense of craftsmanship is imbued with the exterior of the shop being entirely clad in cedar like a well tailored suit. Punctuating the cedar cladding on the long facade, a black powder coated steel window box projects outwards beyond the ‘crust’ of the shop to serve as a seating area and bar for customers inside and outside the shop.
