Iconic Café Artcurial In Paris Revamped By Charles Zana

Cafe-Artcurial-Paris-design-Agence-Charles-Zana-Photos-Jacques-Pepion

During the winter season, the famous Café Artcurial got a revamp by interior designer Charles Zana. The most interesting features of this café are the skylight flooding the space with daylight and the lovely lighting fixtures acting like floating bubbles. The bold patterns on the walls portray a certain evolution in the design concept yet maintaining the historical background. The restaurant offers a menu with specialties and wines from every Italian province, particularly from Piedmont, all served under a glass roof, allowing a view of the elegant private garden.

As Aperitivo bar By Nika Zupanc | Restaurant Design

A designer who hasn't been in the spotlight for her interior works because this is her first is non other than Nika Zupanc who is well known for her product designs never the less for top brands such as Moroso and Moooi. I found out about her work back in 2010 when I posted about her feminine range of furniture.
The first think that attracted me in this project was the beautiful chair, I know it's not a new design but something about it reminds me of the elegance of the Harry Bertoia chair but with a more updated twist to the legs since it was designed in 2010 by Jaime Hayon for Magis. The cherry pendants were designed by Nika herself in 2009. The other details however, such as the sinks, were custom made for this project.
I am not usually a fan of strong colors such as black and red together, but here they work magically together. The rippling feminine details of the furniture are mellowed down by the strong black and red. This project is just beautiful.
Enjoy the photos and details below.

Souk, A Lebanese Food Market, in Greece | Restaurant Design

K-Studio designed a 24-hour Lebanese Food market called Souk located along the coastline in Athens, Greece.

Yatzer described the project:

A feast for both the plate and the palette, it has been inspired by the characteristic features of Beirut – a multi-faceted city of historical and contemporary culture, religion, architecture and design. Souk sweeps you off your feet and offers you an escape and an adventure that is a real feast for all the senses.

Fresh, warm, eclectic and very inviting, the atmosphere in Souk is certainly stimulating. This incredible new restaurant provides a relaxed, sociable and fun dining journey. Imagine wandering around enjoying the delicious scent of the food, perusing eclectic stalls set in structural concrete columns on an easy to navigate grid. Imagine stopping to watch talented chefs using fresh ingredients to prepare various Lebanese delights such as, 'Manaoushi', 'Saj' and‚ 'Taouk' right in front of you. Yes, it's a real place and the hardest part of going to Souk, is deciding which of the delicious dishes on offer to choose from. The food is complimented with extra delights which result from the magical design of this dining space. As you follow the mosaic pathway on a culinary and aesthetic adventure you know that you have found a unique environment in which to relax and feast.
