From My Kitchen | Low Calorie Crepes

Yep I am a chocoholic, a big fan of warm chocolate in particular, and chocolate crepes happen to be one of my favorite desserts. I have a policy of “prioritizing” calories, in other words I would eat a high calorie meal with the condition that it’s “worth it”. Since I only like crepes filled with Nutella, I thought why not have low calorie crepes to make up for the filling. It’s sort of a compromise, less guilt for me.

This is one of the easiest recipes with only 60 calories per crepe (remember Nutella has around 100 cals per TBS, so you do the math when indulging).

For the crepes you will need:

1 egg

1/2 cup flour

1/4 tsp salt

2/3 cups fat free Milk

Just use a whisk and mix them altogether, try not to have any lumps. As you notice there is no source of fat in this recipe, no oil or butter which is unusual, this is why in addition to using a non-stick pan you will need to use non-stick cooking spray, brand doesn’t matter. Put 1/4 cup of batter in the pan, swirl it around then flip to the other side when done.

You can use any filling you want since you won’t feel guilty eating the crepe itself  😉

Enjoy!

Jacques Garcia Designs The NoMad Hotel in New York

NoMad-Hotel-Jacques-Garcia-New-York

I have not tried to recreate a moment in history. I have quite simply thought of the kinds of furniture we want to live with at home today, pieces that are elegant and  functional, comfortable, and convivial. “ ~ Jacques Garcia for Baker Furniture

French interior designer Jacques Garcia possesses a truly unique style, mixing 17th- and 18th-century references with modern influences to create a timeless interpretation of French elegance. From being an interior decorator for clients such as the Sultan of Brunei, to his high-profile re-creation of an 18th-century tea house for Ladurée on the Champs Elysées; and the design of the always relevant Hôtel Costes, his design is timeless. Jacques Garcia has renovated private and public spaces around the world, including many hotels in Paris and is one of Baker’s top designers. The NoMad Hotel is his first hotel in New York. The design draws from his private, idiosyncratic residences and is inspired by his time in Paris as a young man.

DBGB is Chef Daniel Boulud’s downtown place where the French brasserie meets the American tavern. The interior, by Thomas Schlesser of the firm Design Bureaux, Inc. ( Winner of Hospitality Design Best Casual Restaurant Design 2010) is inspired by the Bowery neighborhood of lower Manhattan, well-known for its industrial restaurant supply stores. Floor to ceiling shelving stocked with the restaurant’s own tools, tableware and dry goods overlook a partially open kitchen. Metal restaurant-supply-store shelving creates a hide-and-seek effect between banquettes and the dining room, the dining room and the open kitchen.
