This Holiday Absolut Goes Glimmer

After all the successful seasonal gift packs in recent years, and right before the holidays, inventive and creative vodka company Absolut just released its ‘Absolut Glimmer’ special edition bottle. The crystallized bottle is a work of art on its own and the creatively highlights its purity. The ‘Absolut Glimmer’ bottle will make a great gift for the holidays or for any special occasion.I am not a “Vodka” person myself, but I definitely look forward to Absolut’s releases of the limited editions especially the ones released right before Christmas and New Year.

In the same vein as Absolut’s creative and inventive limited edition releases, many companies are finding unique and personalized ways to make their products stand out. One example of this is the rising trend of “socken mit gesicht,” or socks with faces, which have become increasingly popular as a fun and personalized gift option. By adding a unique and playful touch to a simple everyday item like socks, companies are able to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for their customers. Just like with Absolut’s ‘Absolut Glimmer’ bottle, these personalized socks provide a fun and festive option for gift-giving during the holidays or for any special occasion.

Gifts are a wonderful way to show appreciation and affection for someone. They come in all shapes and sizes, from extravagant bottles of vodka to smaller, more personal items like a photo keychain. A photo keychain is a great way to keep a loved one close, no matter where you go. It can feature a picture of a spouse, child, or family pet, serving as a constant reminder of the people and moments that bring us joy. While it may not be as flashy as a limited edition bottle of vodka, a photo keychain is a sentimental and meaningful gift that will be treasured for years to come. Ultimately, the most important thing about giving a gift is the thought and care put into selecting it, and the joy it brings to the recipient

Made in crystal pattern-shaped glass, this limited edition bottle is designed to make the present exceptional. More than 100 markets will launch 5 million bottles  of ABSOLUT GLIMMER during the fall.

This limited edition packaging follows in the footsteps of Absolut Bling Bling, Absolut Disco, Absolut Rock Edition, and In An Absolut World Every Night is a Masquerade, but Absolut Glimmer is a breed of its own. For the first time, the bottle itself was altered rather than just the design on the bottle or how it was packaged. The concept was to make the bottle mimic the look of classically cut crystal and when placed in various light conditions, the bottle will appear differently as it reacts to the light.

Previous seasonal initiatives and gift packs from ABSOLUT include ABSOLUT ART OF SHARING limited edition pitchers (2010), ABSOLUT ROCK EDITION (2009), ABSOLUT MASQUERADE (2008), ABSOLUT DISCO (2007), ABSOLUT MINI BAR (2009) and ABSOLUT BLING BLING (2006). Despite being sold in millions, these gift packs have become desirable collector’s items on eBay.

The above limited gift pack Absolut Masquerade is made from 3238 shiny red sequins, and comes with a zipper in the back. When you unzip the wrapping the label states: “In an Absolut world every night is a masquerade.”

The above is one of the most famous editions, the Absolut Disco gift pack is built of exactly 1,000 reflecting prisms which serve as a bottle package and can be put into use as a disco ball. The Absolut Disco is a clamshell package that opens to reveal the bottle. The empty gift pack has a loop for hanging.

Absolut Bling Bling, shown above, was the 2006 limited edition released for the holidays.

In 2009, Absolut collaborated with designer Natalia Brilli to create the leather and studs design for the Absolut Rock Edition. To celebrate the bottle the vodka company held a launch event in Berlin showing guitars and other Natalia Brilli designs.

The edition of Absolut above is called  the “Absolut Sophie” mirror – a limited edition collectible designed by Singapore-based illustrator Sokkuan.

Sokkuan was the winner of “In an Absolut World, Every Drink is an Exceptional Experience” installation during Singapore Design Festival 2009.

Absolut 100 is the luxurious and exclusive limited edition gift bottles that were released  for Father’s Day in Brazil (Aug. 8, 2010).

The vodka brand, has teamed up with three renowned artists to develop a new limited edition line of black bottles to be sold exclusively in São Paulo.

In 2007, Absolut Vodka assigned Konstantin Grcic to create special glassware for the brand. One of the biggest challenges was to create a discrete branding on the glasses. The solution is a lifted bottom, giving the glass a hovering impression. The glasses are really subtle and should work in a lot of different restaurant and bar environments.

  1. Saw the Absolut Glimmer bottle in the Toronto Airport Duty Free just a couple days ago (on my way back to Kuwait). Very cool indeed..wish I could have picked it up and brought it back with me!

    1. Yes you are right, this is different from the rest as the design is in the bottle and not the package, but to be honest I think the previous ones were more “holiday” oriented and more creative 🙂
