Wilkhahn | Graph Chair Designed by  Jehs + Laub

Designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub develop a new, high-end range of conference chairs for Wilkhahn. At the design’s core is a seat shell that can be divided and put back together differently, with the armrests becoming the main link between the seat and the backrest. The original, unitary shell shape is still recognizable, but a high level of visual lightness is achieved by the cut-out section and open armrests.

The principle’s benefit is that it is very easy to combine different types of seat and backrest heights to produce diverse models. Comfort also enjoys high priority. The concept includes the integration of three-dimensionally sprung comfort without involving any mechanics. Prototypes of the range was showcased for the first time at Orgatec 2010.

Production is planned for the second half of 2011.

 Wilkhahn | Chassis  Designed by Stefan Diez

Multi-purpose chair Chassis, designed by Stefan Diez, is a worldwide sensation. For the first time, space-frame technology has been used in a chair. The robust seat and back frame and connecting elements on the four legs are deep drawn from sheet metal in one and joined by welding robots to form a complete frame. The materials and technology combine comfort, strength and durability with the precision and elegance of a fascinating design. The economical use of materials also includes sustainable recycling.
An ergonomically shaped, unitary seat and back polypropylene membrane is fixed to the frame. The detachable, finely grained plastic shell is easy to maintain and durable. Weighing less than five and a half kilos, the comfortable chair is easy to handle. The special fusion of shape and materials make Chassis the favorite chair – at work or at home.
Chassis is available in black, grey and white from the first quarter in 2011.

Created collaboratively between American manufacturing company Herman Miller and industrial designer and Fuseproject founder Yves Béhar, you’re looking at the “Sayl” chair. Over 2.5 years in the making, the chair’s design is influenced by the suspension bridges of San Francisco, where the chair was created. For maximum comfort, various degrees of tension are infused into the injection-molded back, providing sacral, lumbar and spine support. The chair’s elegant form also works to adapt to the user’s movement, particularly given the structure’s integrated 3-dimensional intelligence. Now available in both side and work chair forms in various colors, the chairs are importantly made from 93% recyclable material.
