Café Kristall at Swarovski Store in Soho| Restaurants

Austrian chef Kurt Gutenbrunner opened his newest restaurant inside Swarovski’s 5,000-square-foot concept store in Soho  last November. Café Kristall spread across two floors , is suitable for entertaining clients or small groups and is now available for rental for private events.

Clean and modern, the site has high ceilings, sleek beige furnishings, and white walls embellished with patterns made with Swarovski crystals. The dining room seats 24 in an open, airy space with a nine-seat bar. Downstairs, black-and-white photographs of stars like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe decorate the walls of the lounge, which doubles as an event space, holding as many as 60 for receptions. Groups of as many as 100 can buy out both floors; no rental fee is required, but there is a food and beverage service charge.
Gutenbrunner’s menu covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and includes items like weisswurst with sweet mustard and a warm pretzel, red beet terrine with horseradish mousse and organic greens, and apple strudel.

Sex & the City in Baddakan NYC | Restaurant Design

Some movies are synonymous with their settings, such as “Central Perk” in Friends, and “Monk’s Cafe” in Seinfeld. But the movie where people followed the footsteps of the actresses the most was “Sex and the City”. Almost every girl wants to be in Carrie’s shoes (and closet); the special thing about the locations in this movie  is that they are real and not made up sets. The photos in the post are of the Buddakan NYC restaurant, where Carrie and Big had to rehearse for the wedding. Not only do I like this place because it was in Sex and the City, but because it was designed by one of my personal favorite designers, Christian Liaigre.

Where there was once a neighborhood full of slaughterhouses and meat packing plants, the area developed into a trendy spot full of fashion boutiques, top notch restaurants, and designer hotels such as Pastis . The advantage of the lofty industrial warehouses is the ability to create restaurants with tremendous scale. Named one of “America’s Top 50 Restaurants” by Travel + Leisure magazine, Buddakan has attracted an all-star clientele with its Modern Asian cuisine and dramatic atmosphere. It cost around $14,000,000 for an area of 1486 sq. m and accommodates up to 320 diners.

Restaurant Design: The Salad Shop

The Concept

With a brief to reinstate the fact that salads can be hearty meals, the Asylum went about conceiving a fresh identity for a new hospitality project in Singapore.
Calling all “herbivores, carnivores, and everything else in-between”, The Salad Shop’s image definitely battles the notion that the meal of choice is only for the health-conscious or vegetarians alone. Thanks to the branding and interior design by Asylum, this Singapore local is becoming a hot spot for its quick meals AND fun industrial design.

Restaurant Design : Saso | Kuwait

Most people review a restaurant for its food, I know I have a weakness for Saso’s menu, but in this post I will be talking about its design. Saso is a Kuwaiti concept, and I really have to admit I am impressed with the talent Kuwaiti’s have when it comes to food ideas. Partners of MWG Group assigned Pro-design Group for the interior design, the landscaping, and the contracting works. The owners  specified they want high end finishing and design for this particular branch, in the Freezone area by the seaside.
