Once again, FENDI CASA presents an unbelievable collection with an outstanding and lavish setting. The new collection is like none of the previous ones, with a focus on brass details, curved edges, exquisite materials, and a really wide variety of newly introduced pieces. it is uncommon for such luxury brands to launch such a large number of newly designed furniture during one fair. Thierry Lemaire’s influence in the collection has been mainly in the sculptural elements, such as the Artu seating shown above and the Star dining table shown in other photos.

Furniture company Arper have finally put the Bowl chair by Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi into production for the first time since it was designed in 1951. they will only be making 500 chairs, I have no idea why they won’t go through a permanent line for this beautiful product.
Arper worked closely with the Instituto Lina Bo e P.M. Bardi to produce the chair, basing it on the only existing original prototype and Bo Bardi’s design sketches. The Italian furniture brand shares the designer’s mission to place the person at the centre of her projects, and her idea that ‘man is the ultimate objective of architecture’.
The significance of this chair is the fact that it doesn’t need any mechanism, it can achieve movement from all sides on its own and only due to its spherical form.
Part of the proceeds from the chair’s sale will be invested in the Instituto Lina Bo e P.M. Bardi’s social and cultural projects.

Cassina, the Italian luxury furniture brand, has collaborated with Louis Vuitton to create a tribute limited edition LC4 Chaise Lounge. The collaboration was unveiled during Art Basel Miami at the Cassina Showroom in honor French designer Charlotte Perriand.
The LC4 chaise was originally designed by Perriand herself along with Le Corbusier, and Pierre Jeanneret in 1929. The re-issue comes covered in the buttery cowhide of Vuitton’s leather. The chair is upholstered in pale rose-colored leather, with contrasting dark brown hide on the foot and headrest.
Defined as the ‘ultimate relaxing machine,’ only 1000 of the Cassina & Louis Vuitton Limited Edition LC4 Chaise Lounge will be made. The LV logo is no where to be found, it will be priced at $8000.

Last week was a big one in the interior design and furniture world, the annual exhibition known as High Point Market located in North Carolina, U.S.A. took place to showcase the latest collections and products mainly by U.S based brands. Every year Baker takes a big part of this event and reveals its latest collection. This year the collection was by world renowned French Designer : Jacques Garcia.

2013 was a big year in the furniture industry, nevertheless in the luxury sector. I was really impressed with top brands coming up with so many new pieces and trends. Fendi Casa was no exception, and to be honest, I think they were the brand with the most number of newly introduced and launched items. They released sofas, cabinets, beds, lighting, high end chandeliers, and accessories, in addition to new details and fabrics. Their tables were out of this world, I think I need a separate post for that! Here I will just post a few of the items that caught my attention in terms of detail, design, and finish. In the photo above is the magnificent Soho sofa which is shown here as a sectional. Very modern, yet the details reveal quite an eye for luxury finishing. It occurred to me that i have posted several times about the Hermes furniture line but haven't actually posted the details of the items in the collection. Known for their architectural spirit in their designs in general whether in their bags or accessories, it is only natural for Hermes to apply the same approach to their furniture. As it is already known, architect Antonio Citterio designed their debut collection and Philippe Nigro worked on the latest one presented last April during Salone Del Mobili.
