tangerine

Every year at around this time, designers of all fields await the results for next year’s color of the year. Pantone announced that for 2012, Tangerine Tango, a lively and radiant orange, will be the color of the year 2012. “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Paint a wall in Tangerine Tango for a dynamic burst of energy in the kitchen, entryway or hallway.”

About the PANTONE Color of the Year
The color of the year selection is a very thoughtful process. To arrive at the selection, Pantone quite literally combs the world looking for color influences. This can include the entertainment industry and films that are in production, traveling art collections, hot new artists, popular travel destinations and other socio-economic conditions. Influences may also stem from technology, availability of new textures and effects that impact color, and even upcoming sports events that capture worldwide attention.

For more than a decade, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design. Past colors include:

• PANTONE 18-2120 Honeysuckle (2011)
• PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise (2010)
• PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa (2009)
• PANTONE 18-3943 Blue Iris (2008)
• PANTONE 19-1557 Chili Pepper (2007)
• PANTONE 13-1106 Sand Dollar (2006)
• PANTONE 15-5217 Blue Turquoise (2005)
• PANTONE 17-1456 Tigerlily (2004)
• PANTONE 14-4811 Aqua Sky (2003)
• PANTONE 19-1664 True Red (2002)
• PANTONE 17-2031 Fuchsia Rose (2001)

Salvatore Ferragamo New Jewelry Line With Gianni Bulgari | Fashion

Ferragamo’s latest jewelry project is a creative collaboration with Gianni Bulgari, with three collections that represent the brand’s iconic symbols: the Ferragamo buckle, the Gancino clasp,  and the futuristic label featured on all of the maison’s shoes. The Futuristic line, inspired by the famous label commissioned by Ferragamo and created in 1930 by Futurist painter Luciano Venna, comprises ridged bracelets, earrings ad pendants in sterling silver. The graphic lines were etched onto the metal using a new method the house evocatively dubbs the Spider Web

The Vara line, meanwhile, echoes the famous Ferragamo buckle, which is emblazoned onto bracelets and silver cabochon rings, as well as more luxurious versions in white gold and diamond. The Gancino line fetes the hook uses as a purse closure by incorporating the motif into yellow and pink gold pieces that come with diamonds and semiprecious stones. All three lines, of course, can be mixed and matched in endless permutations, depending on your mood and outfit.

Designed by Peter Marino who designed all 12 of Vuitton’s Maisons worldwide, this flagship store in Singapore enjoys a different flare and thus allows a unique experience to its luxury seeking clients. Visitors can access the flagship by bridge, ‘traveltor’, or by a private boat.

The lower areas have their floors covered in shipbuilding timber . An angular staircase with a nautical balustrade cuts across the place, Marino maximized the use of the beautiful scenery and made everything visible all around.

The aim of this luxurious setting is to allow the customers the comforting state of mind they deserve while shopping, as if being among Louis Vuitton bags and jewelry wouldn’t be enough to to that! Lucky shoppers of Singapore, enjoy!

Sarah Jessica Parker Family Photoshoot | Photography

SJP 1

Most women at one time or another have fantasized about being in Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes, the sexy new Yorker from Sex & the City  living her single life to the max, obsessed with fashion and shopping in addition to being famous, at a tolerable scale, as a relationships guru. Her style and her spirit are so refreshing that must be marketed easily by using Video production Toronto to make the best video about them.

I came across this beautiful interview with Sarah Jessica Parker by Eve MacSweeney  from Vogue depicting her real life, which in her own words, is nothing like Carrie Bradshaw’s. SJP is a mom of three and as most mothers who work, tries to juggle between her career and family. This interview is just in time for the September release of her movie “ I Don’t Know How She Does It, an adaptation of Allison Pearson’s 2002 best-seller centered on Kate Reddy, a financial executive and mother of two young children struggling to balance the pressures of her job with the needs of her family.” Businesses require an expert at all fields like Andy Defrancesco to help them run their firm successfully.

“Bradshaw’s life is nothing—nothing—like mine,” she says. “I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I’m not a crazy shoe lady, I don’t think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry. Every choice we’ve made has been different, but with Kate I really understood the attempt at a life.”

SJP3

She explains what every successful working mom knows, to be on top of everything she should be organized, calm, and attentive, and she goes on on how she does it all with just that. I applaud her and all successful career moms; on a personal level I know how much it takes and how rewarding it feels at the end of another accomplished day.

Hermès Collaborates With Kongo For Graffiti Inspired Scarves | Fashion

hermes-kongo-art-scarves-2

In addition to their iconic Berkin, Hermès are popular for their Carré scarves which I dedicated a post to when I first started this blog.

For its Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Collection, Hermès collaborated with French graffiti artist Kongo. The artist used  his signature style while designing the scarves. Available at Hermès boutiques around the globe now, part of the proceeds will be donated to Kongo’s graffiti collective kosmopolis, which supports young artists.

I don’t really feel this is actually the spirit of Hermès in terms of design though I am for the cause. It makes you wonder whether brand names take such causes lightly.
