This beautiful hotel is located in Austria, designed by Gogl Architekten has to be one of the most charming hotels I have ever come across. I loved the use of stone, matt steel, and raw wood. The combination is just amazing creating a beautiful rustic balance. Many of the items were custom made by the architects for the project. At 115,000 sq.m in Changsha, China, The International Culture & Arts Centre embodies a unique variety of civic nodes and spaces: A Grand Theatre, a Contemporary Art Museum, a Multipurpose Hall and supporting facilities. The central plaza is generated by the relative position of these separate buildings and offers a strong urban experience whereby the flow of pedestrian visitors that come from all sides of the site intersect and meet. In parallel it also stretches outwards to the neighboring streets with unfettered and phenomenal views across Meixi lake with access towards Festival Island.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University (MSU) By Zaha Hadid | Architecture

Zaha-Hadid-Architecture-Design-08

A friend of mine studying at MSU sent me an image of this beautiful museum by Zaha Hadid Architects  which I found was a bit different than her other work yet still very powerful. The museum is known as The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum and is located at Michigan State University (MSU), Michigan, U.S.A.

This Museum at MSU will serve as both an educational resource for the campus community and a cultural hub. It will present contemporary works within a historical context through access to a study collection of more than 7,500 objects, ranging from the Greek and Roman periods to modern art.

“The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University is committed to exploring international contemporary culture and ideas through art. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid, the museum features a striking façade of pleated stainless steel and glass, signaling the museum and the university’s dynamic vision. More than 70 percent of the 46,000-square-foot facility is dedicated to exhibition space. The museum is named for Eli and Edythe Broad, longtime supporters of Michigan State University, who provided the lead gift for the museum.”

Contemporary-Property-Cape-Town-South-Africa-001

Just like there was a time all I could see were great projects by A-Cero, it seems now SAOTA are just breeding beautiful residences in Cape Town, South Africa. Their designs have become very popular because of their use of several complementing finishes, such as stone, concrete, wood, and massive glass areas which allow plenty of light inside. This is their Glen 2961 Project, completed in 2012.
